About the ISBS

On a two-year schedule, the ISBS has held international symposia in Miami, Cardiff, Philadelphia, Besançon, San Francisco, Liège, Milwaukee, Stresa, Sendai, Cincinatti, Zurich, Boston, Jerusalem, Hamburg, Philadelphia and Seoul.

 

The ISBS regards intervention and the standardization of techniques and instrumentation the prime importance and in addition to its symposia holds regular regional workshops on these topics.

 

Official Journal of the ISBS is SKIN RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY a journal published by Blackwell Publishing, and edited by Jørgen Serup, M.D.

History

The International Society for Bioengineering of the Skin (ISBS) was formed informally in 1976 and was formally constituted in 1993. In 2005 the International Society for Skin Imaging (ISSI) merged with ISBS under the new name of International Society for Biophysics and Imaging of the Skin.
